Under the terms of the Freedom of Information Act 2000, Eastleigh College has two key responsibilities: to establish a procedure to deal with individual requests for information relating to the College, and to produce a publication scheme, which is a guide to the information produced by the College.

Freedom of Information Act Publication Scheme

Under the terms of the FOIA, the College is obliged to produce a Publication Scheme, which lists the information which the College makes routinely available, as well as the format and person to request the information from, if it is not available electronically. Details relating to requests for information not included within the Scheme, and of charges made in fulfilment of requests, can be found after the schedule of information. Please note that this Publication Scheme follows the model publication scheme for colleges of further education provided by the Information Commissioner's Office, and is in force as of 1st January 2009.

Requesting Information

Requests for information should be made to the FOIA Officer (Finance Dept) at Eastleigh College, Chestnut Avenue, Eastleigh, Hampshire, SO50 5FS, or alternatively by emailing foia@eastleigh.ac.uk. All requests will be processed within twenty working days from the day the material requested has been agreed and any charge has been paid.

Please note that there is a separate procedure for requesting information covered by Data Protection - see the Data Protection section of this website for further details.

Charging

The College will normally make no charge for requests for information that is readily available electronically, or for a single paper copy of any piece of information. Multiple copies and requests for large quantities of information will incur charges. Applicants will be given an estimate of the cost in advance and the charge will be payable before the work is undertaken.

Copyright

Reproducing material supplied under its Publication Scheme without the express permission of Eastleigh College may constitute an infringement of its copyright. Requests for permission should be addressed to the FOIA Officer (Finance Dept).

Eastleigh College welcomes comments and suggestions about this Publication Scheme. Please address them to the FOIA Officer (Finance Dept), as indicated above.
