The courses are fully funded (free) for the following groups (subject to eligibility criteria):
- Free if you are aged over 19* and have a prior Level 2 qualification
- Free if you are aged over 24* and have Level 1 in English
- Free if you are unemployed
- Do not have a higher prior qualification in the subject of the course you wish to complete

Catering learner books place in Major International Chef’s Culinary Challenge final
Level 3 Advanced Professional Catering learner Rishiram Chaudhary has emerged victorious in his Main Course competition heat to reach the final of the Major International Chef’s Culinary Challenge. The final will be hosted in March at the Excel centre in London. Rishiram’s success caps off a competitive opening heat hosted at our own East Avenue restaurant. Students from both Eastleigh College and Highbury College took part, tasked with creating a main course from scratch in fifty minutes, including preparing, cooking and presenting a two course plated dish.
Hair and Beauty learners wow NHS staff with free treatments
NHS staff in the local area have enjoyed complementary treatments from our Hair and Beauty learners, as part of a dedicated December 2021 campaign to thank them for their work throughout the pandemic. A total of twelve NHS staff members signed up for the year-end initiative, with services on offer including facials, massages, manicures, pedicures and haircuts. Learners from all levels of Hair and Beauty study were given the opportunity to participate, with Level 2 learners gaining first-time salon experience and Level 3 learners incorporating the campaign into their Wednesday afternoon commercial salon timetable slots.
