Counselling learners celebrate graduation at University of Portsmouth

Counselling learners have enjoyed a memorable graduation ceremony, in what has been another strong year of academic performance.

The ceremony took place at the Portsmouth Guildhall, which was filled with spectators as counselling learners rose in turn to collect their qualifications, including DIPHE’s (Gestalt, CBT or Humanistic Diplomas) and Level 6 BSC top-up degrees. College lecturers and team staff members were present to personally congratulate learners on their achievements.

It was another strong year of achievement for our learners, with 100% of those on our Level 6 qualification gaining a First-Class Honours degree. This is the third year in a row that this outcome has been achieved. The majority of DipHE students also achieved a Distinction grade this year.

The learners were part of a group of 7,600 students who have graduated from University of Portsmouth this summer, representing over 100 countries. A total of 26 ceremonies took place over the course of July, in addition to two virtual ceremonies.

Professor Graham Galbraith, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Portsmouth, commented: “Graduation is a highlight of the academic year, not just for our graduates but for the whole University community. It is a time for us all to celebrate and share the experiences and achievements of our students with family, friends and fellow graduates.”

Anna Nikolin, Course Manager of Counselling at Eastleigh College, said: “We would like to say a huge congratulations to all DipHE and BSc Counselling graduates on this remarkable achievement! Their dedication, hard work and passion for helping others have brought them to this milestone and now as they step into the world as professional counsellors, they have the ability to make a profound impact on people’s lives. We wish them the best of luck on this exciting journey.”
