All our gas training and assessments are delivered in state-of-the-art modern facilities, on the Eastleigh College campus where you are able to work on real domestic problems, making it easy to build upon existing skills or acquire new ones.
Become an industry recognised competent gas engineer
You need to achieve relevant qualifications and/or experience before you apply for Gas Safe registration. To achieve the occupationally competent standard, which needs a re-assessment of competence every five years you will need to enrol on our MLP.
GAC Centre Managed Learning Programme (MLP)
The Managed Learning programme is for people who already hold a minimum of a level 2 in a Plumbing related industry. This Training will allow learners to gain the detailed knowledge and experience that allows entry to the gas industry and embark on their new career as a Gas Safe registered operative.
Once complete this will give you the entry criteria to the assessment centre where you will gain ACS approval in the following:
- Core Gas Safety (CCN1) - Initial
- CPA1 -Combustion Performance Analysers Domestic
- MET1 - Meters
- CENWAT - Central Heating Boilers and Water Heaters
- Additional appliances added if required (additional costs apply)
Re Assessment and Training
We offer a wide range of gas assessments, all of which can be delivered on flexible dates, with optional training courses. i.e. Training and assessment or just assessment options are available.
Our gas assessment fees are not subject to VAT. Fees include registration, certificate fees, learning materials, refreshments and there are no hidden costs. Free on-site reserved parking is also included.

Gas Safety Week 2021 marks busy year for Eastleigh’s Gas Assessment Centre
The eleventh national campaign to raise awareness of gas safety took place last week and marks the end of a busy year at the Gas Assessment Centre (GAC) in Eastleigh where candidates qualify for both home and business ‘gas safe’ registration. Within the past 12 months the BPEC approved assessment centre has been restructured and expanded to accommodate an increased apprentice intake.
New BPEC-approved plumbing workshop is set to raise standards in a changing sector
Neil Collishaw, Chief Executive Officer of BPEC, the employer-led training standards organisation for the Plumbing, Heating, Gas and wider Energy Sector, visited the brand-new plumbing workshop at Eastleigh College. Neil met with Michael Lock, Head of Gas & Plumbing, Smart Metering and Renewable Energy, to discuss how BPEC can better support the College.
