On Campus
The department currently makes use of five specialised computer suites, equipped with both PCs and iMacs with the latest version industry-standard software. The software used is fully licensed and available for users to install at home. The lecturers have industrial experience in various specialisations including networks, repair and maintenance of PCs, electronics, engineering, game development, 3D modelling, business and data analysis and of course, programming.
The College has good links with local businesses, who will occasionally offer work to the department. This gives our learners a unique understanding of the industry and first-hand experience with genuine projects, prior to seeking work or a place at University. This work may include creating 3D assets for computer flight simulator software, writing code, designing business solutions and even creating CGI imagery and video for marketing purposes.
