Hiring a trainee is a great opportunity to get to know and work with a young person to see if they’re the right fit for an apprenticeship or job at your organisation.
Traineeships are a skills development programme which allow your organisation to offer work experience to young people aged 16 to 24, or 25 with an education, health and care plan. Your work experience opportunity must be at least 70 hours and can last from 6 weeks up to 1 year.
Employing a trainee is easier than you think. Traineeships are funded by the government (free for the employer) and you may be eligible for an incentive payment of £1,000 per learner.
