Lecturer in Enterprise and Employability
Salary: Up to £23,811 per annum, pro rata for unqualified teacher status
Up to £34,917 per annum, pro rata for qualified teacher status
Hours: 22.2 hours per week delivery over a 3 day week
Start Date: 2nd September 2019
Closing Date: 22nd August 2019
Fixed Term Contract for an initial 3 month period
A day in the life of…..
Eastleigh College is looking for a Lecturer to teach in the College’s Foundation area contributing to the Enterprise, Employability and Kickstart courses.
These courses support and reward personal development, resilience and commitment by developing individuals who have had an unsuccessful academic journey because they:
- have not met the entry requirements for their chosen learning programme
- are unsure of their future career options
- attended full time courses and have found it difficult to maintain the pace
- wish to change career paths part way through the academic year.
Groups are set to circa 12-15 learners per group.
This role will require excellent communication and organisational skills to develop the potential of students who have been disengaged from learning.
These courses allow learners to develop mindfulness, resilience, employability as well as Maths, English and ICT skills
- Teaching Qualification – Cert Ed or PGCE however full training can be offered to achieve qualified teacher status.
Ideal attributes of applicant:
We are looking for a Lecturer with experience of teaching learners who are working from Entry Level to Level 2 with the ability to deliver functional skills in Maths and English up to Level 2.
