The Computer Technician is responsible for IT configuration both hardware and software and the development and maintenance of the College’s communications network infrastructure. Working as part of a team you will provide technical support and advice for staff and students.
You will display enthusiasm and commitment for IT and hold computing qualifications at level 3, or evidence of equivalent experience and proven experience on maintaining the digital hardware, software configuration and deployment,. You will also have intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Server 2012 and Active Directory, Windows 7, 10, OSX, Linux and MS Office 2016. Experience in supporting the following will be an advantage: MS Exchange 2016, MS SQL Server, RAID, VMWare, VLans, TCP/IP, Moodle 2, firewalls, corporate WI Fi networks, and corporate backup solutions.
Experience of working in an educational environment or supporting a large corporate network will be an advantage. You will have good customer care skills, the ability to use your own initiative and be able to work as part of a team. Some evening work will be required.
