What opportunities will this course give me?
Candidates successfully completing this course could be able to progress on to one of the following:
• Award in the Initial Verification & Certification Periodic Inspection of Electrical Installations (2391-52) - A pre-course assessment to determine suitability will be required before enrolling on to the 2391-52 course.
What will I be learning?
This is a classroom based activity, with each section of BS7671: 2018 regulations forming the basis for lecture/discussion. Candidates will gain knowledge of rules applied to the design, installation and testing of electrical installations.
The level 3 certificate C&G 2382-18 is awarded on the successful completion of a multi-choice online, open book examination (examination takes place on a separate evening following course completion).
It is recognised by industry, and was developed in conjunction with the NICEIC, ECA and Summitskills; the sector skills council for building service engineering.
Why is this course for me?
The sessions are all theory based, comprising of a series of lectures based on each section of BS7671. The theory is supported through the completion of structured questions designed to encourage the candidate to use the text extensively.
What do I need to sign up?
This qualification is primarily aimed at practicing electricians with relevant experience and other allied professionals e.g. surveyors, consultants and other trades needing to update and enhance their understanding is IET wiring regulations.
Successful completion of this course does not entitle a candidate to use the title electrician.
Is there anything else I need to know?
Those who wish to update their knowledge to current edition of the IET Wiring Regulations 18th Edition. Completion of this qualification provides evidence that you are working to the latest wiring regulations - BS7671. The Regulations apply to the design, erection and verification of electrical installations, and also additions and alterations to existing installations.
