Studying only GCSEs during Years 10 and 11 is not necessarily the right course of study for everyone. Eastleigh College offer a vocational alternative to the traditional GCSE route. There is plenty of choice on subjects to study, including Hospitality, Engineering and Beauty Therapy. All courses include some classroom based study, helping you to understand the theory behind the practical work you are doing.
Check out the different courses available here.
Studying vocational courses from the age of 14 often increases students' self esteem and confidence. It also helps in instilling an understanding of the benefit of gaining qualifications and how it will help them progress in the careers market.
Links programmes offer choice and structure, carefully planned with a mixture of school, college and work placement. All the programmes have structured progression pathways into a full-time course, or in some cases, an Apprenticeship at Eastleigh College.
Places on the School Links Programme are very limited. If you are interested in applying, speak to your tutor at school. Alternatively, contact Adam England at Eastleigh College on 023 8091 1230 or email aengland@eastleigh.ac.uk
