The plumbing industry provides services mostly to construction, with clients ranging from industrial and commercial to retail and domestic. However, there are also opportunities to work outside of construction with the Government, education, and health services. Plumbers will usually work on projects involving heating and ventilation, hot and cold water supply, service and maintenance and water, sanitation and draining systems. The industry is subject to influence by technological changes, such as the introduction of new environmentally friendly processes. Most employees in this sector are either self-employed or work for small businesses.
