The annual contribution of the sport sector to the UK economy is over £8 billion. The sector has more than 36,000 employers, creating work for more than 600,000 full-time and part-time employees, and over 5 million volunteers! You can get involed hands-on as a Sports Coach or Fitness Instructor, or take a less active approach as a Sports Commentator or Sports Journalist. The opportunities are vast, within local facilities and sports centres as well as national schemes encouraging more people to take up active, healthy lifestyles.
