What opportunities will this course give me?
The purpose of this qualification is to develop your skills in nail technology to a high level of occupational ability, to enable you to perform your own salon services. You must have a minimum level of English to enable the successful completion of the knowledge required. No prior nail technology experience is required, however students must have a genuine interest in nails, enthusiasm and commitment.
Each session is designed to refresh your knowledge and practical skills so you can confidently seek employment in the industry
You can gain employment in a number of establishments such as salons, beauty complexes within hotels or in department stores. You can also become self employed and have your own business
From the completion of this course you can enrol onto level 3 Nail Technology or Level 2 Setting up your own business
What will I be learning?
Follow health and safety practice in the salon
Client care and communication in beauty-related industries
Provide manicure treatments - if this qualification is previously held a Requisite of Prior Learning can be obtained
Provide and maintain nail enhancement /The Liquid and Powder System
Nail Art
Why is this course for me?
The programme will be taught by a team of highly qualified professionals and will include a mixture of practical and theory lessons in a working salon. Training will include professional product knowledge.
An element of home study will be expected to support the completion of written tasks.
What do I need to sign up?
It is advisable that you speak to a member of the Beauty Team before enrolling to discuss course requirements.
If a manicure qualification is already obtained proof of this will be requested on enrolment.
Is there anything else I need to know?
A full kit will need to be purchased to ensure you are able to practice at home and in college. This is at a cost of £99.00 (please note this is subject to change)
Please wear suitable salon attire, if you no longer own a tunic then smart black trousers, black top which covers the torso and dark flat closed in shoes (no trainers)
The course is a qualification based on a pass or fail grade
