What are the entry requirements?
This course is suitable for anyone thinking about or planning to start a small business from home. Students should be fluent when reading and writing in English and be able to do simple calculations using a calculator. Access to a computer and the internet at home would be an advantage.
What does this programme involve?
The course will address specific start-up topics, such as: pros and cons of running your own business, personal lifestyle choices, researching your market, statutory requirements and setting achievable targets.
You will learn how to plan for your business venture by exploring the legal requirements, setting achievable targets, making an action plan and improving your direction.
A College Certificate will be awarded upon request.
How is the programme taught and assessed?
The course will be taught through demonstrations, discussions and practical tasks.
What else do I need to know?
Please bring a pen and paper/notepad to the class, along with any business resources that you already have - for example: leaflets, cards, printouts.
No further costs are anticipated, however students will be responsible for the purchase of any additional materials relevant to the course.
