What opportunities will this course give me?
This brickwork course will prepare you to work safely and with confidence in construction with a focus on bricklaying skills. You will learn the foundations of the knowledge and skills required to progress to the next level of becoming a skilled bricklayer.
The skills you learn will enable you to understand how to build, repair and maintain commercial and residential buildings.
What will I be learning?
You will have the opportunity to study the following subjects:
Principles of building construction, information and communication
Setting out and building of masonry structures up to damp proof course
Carrying out block and brick laying activities
Carrying out cavity walling activities
Health, safety and welfare in construction
What do I need to sign up?
You will need 5 GCSEs grade 3 or above (including English and maths).
Is there anything else I need to know?
You will require an interview with subject specialist staff to ensure you have a good understanding of the course you are applying for.
