What opportunities will this course give me?
This basic motor vehicle checks workshop will help you learn more about looking after your existing car, as well as what to look out for when buying a used vehicle.
Please take a look at our other courses for £5 and under. These are open to anyone over 19 and are a great way to meet people, learn new skills, and explore different interests in a safe and supportive environment.

What will I be learning?
In this workshop, we will be focusing on:
• Checks to carry out before starting a long journey
• Basic winter checks on your vehicle
• Pre-MOT checks you can carry out
• What to look out for when buying a used car online and in person
You will primarily learn through discussions, activities, group work, pair work, observation and practice.
Why is this course for me?
Whilst you will not gain a professional qualification on this course, this workshop is a great way to gain confidence in looking after your motor vehicle, how to carry out some pre-MOT checks yourself, and common issues when buying a second hand vehicle.
How will my learning be enhanced?
On this workshop, you will be taught by a qualified motor vehicle technician who has extensive experience of teaching to both adults and young people.
Your tutor will be both friendly and accommodating, ensuring your experience on the workshop is stimulating and rewarding.

What do I need to sign up?
This course is part of our Community Learning Programme which is designed to offer a range of opportunities for people in the community. All that is required is an enthusiasm to take part and learn.
Is there anything else I need to know?
There are no formal entry requirements in respect of this course. The course is suitable for all adult learners aged 19 and over.
There are no costs anticipated in respect of this workshop. Please wear overalls or old clothing, as well as closed toe footwear.
