Eastleigh College and Solent University work together to strengthen regional skills offer

Solent University and Eastleigh College have entered into a reciprocal governance arrangement, and are working on a number of initiatives to improve education and employer engagement across the region, simplifying and clarifying access to training and apprenticeships for employers and organisations.

Enterprising learners across Eastleigh College have continued to gain valuable work experience while adhering to the Covid-19 safety restrictions that have been put in place by both the college and employers. As well as gaining extra skills, the work experience helps to enhance learning. 

Fairtrade Fortnight website provides wealth of resources for school pupils

A team of Eastleigh College learners has launched a dedicated website to promote a range of fun and inspiring educational online events and activities for schools, colleges, community groups and home-schooling parents to raise awareness of Fairtrade during Fairtrade Fortnight (22 Feb - 9 March).

Demand for Healthcare and Nursing courses rises amid pandemic

Eastleigh College is reporting a surge in demand for Health and Social Care courses, with a third more school-leavers applying for our Level 2 and Level 3 courses, including the unique Pathway to Nursing course that the college runs in partnership with University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust.

Learning Centre book sale benefits charities

Two charities have benefited following a cull of books no longer needed by the college’s extensive library. During a stocktake of the library's collection of over 11,000 books, over 400 were donated to African schools or sold to raise money for a leading cancer charity.

Eastleigh College is offering rapid-turnaround lateral flow tests for learners and staff to help in the fight against Covid-19. Lateral flow tests can produce quick results and can be used to identify Covid-19 infection in those without symptoms (asymptomatic).

Eastleigh careers advisor excels at Hampshire Education Awards

Eastleigh College’s Lead Careers Advisor, Trudy McKenzie, impressed the judges at Hampshire Country Council's annual Education Awards and scooped the 'Futures Award' for her excellence and achievements, and the positive impact she has had on learners' future career progression.
