What are the entry requirements?

There are no formal entry requirements for this course.

What does this programme involve?

On this course we will be looking at dishes from North and South America ranging from Louisiana Jambalaya and New England Pecan Pie to Mexican Quesadillas and Argentinian Empanadas. All the classes are conducted in a relaxed and friendly manner. Ingredients can be supplied if required at a cost of 40 per course.

How is the programme taught and assessed?

At the beginning of the course you will be provided with a booklet giving recipes and ingredients. Each week the lecturer will demonstrate the dishes and you will then cook the dishes yourself with any support needed. You will of course then have your fantastic food to take home!

What else do I need to know?

This course is suitable for all, though some cooking experience would be beneficial.

You will need to bring along a notebook and pen for the first week. You will also need a suitable knife, tea towel, oven gloves and a lidded tub to take home your food.

Students will be responsible for the purchase of materials relevant to the course. Ingredients need to be purchased by students in advance of the lesson from the list provided; alternatively, these may be purchased by the tutor, by prior arrangement.
