What opportunities will this course give me?
You can continue on this class throughout the year, then progress to the Stage 2 Improvers class when you have reached the correct level. Total beginners should start in September. It may be possible to join in the Spring and Summer term if there is a place available and you have some experience.
What will I be learning?
You will learn to play the piano with the guidance of the tutor. You will learn to play simple tunes from the tutor book initially using single hands, then both hands. This course will include building an understanding of note reading and timing.
Please note there is no formal examination or Grading Certification on course completion however a College Certificate will be awarded on request.
Why is this course for me?
This course is mainly practical with a little theory using pianos and keyboards with guidance from the tutor. You will be taught in a group with a maximum of 4 students as well as working individually in practice rooms. Practice between lessons will aid your progress throughout the course.
What do I need to sign up?
No formal entry requirements are necessary for this course.
Is there anything else I need to know?
This course is suitable for students with no previous experience.
Piano tutor book: learners may purchase their own copy if they wish and details will be given by the tutor at the start of the course. Copies of material will also be provided.
Please bring a notebook/paper and pencil to the class.
