Academic programmes consist of A-Levels and AS Levels. Normally students take 3 A-Level subjects to study over two years. Some students, particularly with strong GCSE results, will also take a fourth A-Level (over two years) or an additional AS level (for one year). Most students taking A-Levels will aim to go onto University as they offer progression into a wide variety of degree choices.

Most will have good GCSE results, usually A and B grades. Students whose results are a C/4 have a limited choice of A-Levels and in many cases choose a mix of A-Level and vocational courses, or focus entirely on a Technical and Professional programme, such as those offered by Eastleigh College. A-Levels require students to learn a significant amount of information and are assessed largely by exams at the end of the two years.

Eastleigh College does not currently offer full-time academic courses. This is because we specialise in providing our students with the practical skills they need to enter the workplace, by working closely with a range of employers, providing a place of study that includes what you would expect to find in the workplace, and invaluable work experience.
