Apprenticeships are fast becoming the smart choice into highly skilled work; they combine learning in College with the exciting challenge of putting your new skills into practice within a real workplace, surrounded by driven professionals. Plus it is predicted that the number of higher skilled jobs that will be available to younger generations when they are of a working age is likely to be far more than the number of people looking for work. This means that you are likely to have a wealth of opportunities and job choices, and that employers are more likely to encourage young people to work their way up through their business. One great way of doing this is through an Apprenticeship.
For young people, they offer a staggering range of benefits, which includes:
- A wage and paid holiday
- Higher lifetime earnings than the same level of academic study
- A structured route into higher level work
- Study progression, equivalent to a University degree; without the fees
Modern Apprenticeships are now available in pretty much every subject area, and are likely to be present within most companies. Apprentices are best suited to more confident individuals, and although we encourage students to find their own employer, the College can offer a range of support, including:

- Job hunting hints and tips
- The latest vacancies from a range of employers that the College works with
