The Learner Mentor Team works closely with full-time learners, tutors, parents/carers, other college support teams and external support agencies to ensure that students achieve their maximum potential whilst they are at college. This involves:

  • Monitoring learner attendance to ensure it doesn't fall below 90%
  • Arranging meetings with parents/guardians to address any concerns
  • Ensuring learners keep up-to-date with their studies
  • Providing individual mentoring and setting targets to support learners
  • Organising retention and progression interviews
  • Providing information, advice and guidance, and signposting to appropriate services as required
  • Ensuring learners receive appropriate careers information, advice and guidance on further or higher education
