School leavers have two types of courses that they can choose to study at Eastleigh College.
What is best for you?
When deciding which type of course is right for you it is worth considering how you prefer to study, how you like to be graded and where you want to learn:
*We don’t teach academic study programmes (like A-levels) at Eastleigh College.
Academic vs Apprenticeship levels
Technical and Professional courses (at Level 3 and above) and Advanced Apprenticeship courses require you to develop relevant 'hands-on' practical knowledge. The table below compares the different courses.
Technical and Professional Level | Academic Level | Apprenticeship Level |
Level 6 | Bachelor Degree | Higher (level 6) |
Level 5 | Foundation Degree / HNC / HND | Higher (level 5) |
Level 4 | Certificate of Higher Education | Higher (level 4) |
Level 3 | A-Levels | Advanced |
Level 2 | GCSEs | Intermediate |
