What opportunities will this course give me?
This is a course designed to assist learners with money saving, de-cluttering and home decor tips, and picture framing as a hobby. College offers a wide range of art, woodwork, interior design, and photography courses that students may wish to attend, please browse the website for details.
What will I be learning?
You will learn how to safely disassemble an old picture frame and how to measure dimensions for a new picture to fit in the frame you have taken apart. You will also learn how to cut a bevel edged window in a card mount for your new picture, then how to clean and reassemble the newly framed picture, ready to hang on a wall.
Throughout the workshop you will be assisted in reusing and refreshing your old picture frame, and given advice and support to overcome any difficulties.
An Eastleigh College certificate is available on request.

You will learn by demonstration, by working as a group, and supervised practical work.
What do I need to sign up?
There are no formal entry requirements in respect of this course.
Is there anything else I need to know?
Learners are responsible for the cost of materials as used.
Please bring a pencil, paper and eraser, plus an old picture frame (no bigger than 50cm x 40cm) you would like to reuse. Please also bring a picture you would like to display in the frame. The picture must be smaller than the viewing size of the frame and the frame must be in a reasonable condition (i.e. strong corner joints and undamaged glass).
The main cost of the workshop will be mountboard which is available on the day directly from your tutor. A budget of £3 should cover the costs.

A place on your chosen course is not confirmed until all of the necessary enrolment paperwork is signed and any relevant fees are paid.
