Do you love the indulgent look and irresistible smell of candles? Have you ever wondered how to make one yourself? Then why not explore our brilliant, fun and engaging Candle Making workshop?
In this very hands on course youll get to grips with the basics of candle making. Youll explore the key steps needed to craft the perfect candle, as well as the process of combining scents and finding your classic aroma.
Most of our students fall in love with their newly acquired skill, turning it into a core hobby. As well as making candles for themselves, they can go on to create candles as gifts or to sell at local markets.
What will I be learning?
Learn how to make candles with an experienced candle-maker on our introductory workshop. You will be taught how to create scented and coloured candles using soy wax either for yourself or as a gift for family and friends.
You will learn hands-on how to make vegan friendly candles of your own, using essential oils and dye colours.
A college certificate is awarded on request.

How will my learning be enhanced?
Step-by-step, youll learn how to make a candle from scratch before trying it out for yourself. Youll also have the opportunity to experiment with a wide selection of essential oils, designing and creating the ideal candle for you.

What do I need to sign up?
There are no formal entry requirements in respect of this course; it is perfect for complete beginners who want to learn how to make beautiful candles.
Is there anything else I need to know?
Please wear suitable clothing for the activity and comfortable closed toe footwear.
Please bring 4 or 5 recycled glass jars (maximum size 454g - a standard sized jam jar). Smaller jars such as Mustard, Bonne Maman, Pesto, or Cream Caramel jars are the perfect size. Alternatively, you can use small drinking glasses, tea cups or espresso cups. Please note that square jars are not suitable for candle making as the wax will not melt correctly.
Please also bring an apron if you have one and a tray or box to carry your candles home.
You will transform your containers into beautiful candle holders. Four or five items would be sufficient for the workshop.
There are no additional costs anticipated for this course.
