What are the entry requirements?

No formal entry requirements necessary for this course.

What does this programme involve?

Students will learn how to cook a variety of dishes and gain insight into the cuisine and culture of several Eastern European countries.
Dishes will include:
- Goulash (a rich Hungarian soup - actually spelt Gulyas - seasoned with paprika)
- Stroganoff (sauteed pieces of beef in a mushroom and sour cream sauce)
- Marlenka (a layered honey cake from the Czech Republic) and many more!

A College Certificate is available on request.

How is the programme taught and assessed?

This course is a practical class with hands on learning. There will be some group and individual instruction and demonstration.

What else do I need to know?

The course is suitable for anyone interested in learning how to cook Eastern European food. There are no formal entry requirements but some cooking experience would be beneficial.

Please bring a notebook and pen for the first week as it will be a demonstration week. Following weeks you will need to bring your own knives, tea towel, apron and oven gloves.

Students will be responsible for the purchase of ingredients as necessary on a weekly basis. A list of ingredients will be provided at the end of each session. Costs will vary depending on topic undertaken.
