What are the entry requirements?

There are no formal entry requirements in respect of this course. No previous knowledge or experience is required.

What does this programme involve?

This introductory festive course will teach learners how to professionally decorate a cake with sugarpaste and finish off with simple seasonal decorations. These will include a range of models and festive flowers including Reindeer, snowmen and poinsettia flowers. The course does has some flexibility, therefore, the tutor is happy to consider individual requests from learners.

Hygiene, and health and safety will also be taught.

How is the programme taught and assessed?

This is a practical ''hands on'' course under the guidance of the tutor.

What else do I need to know?

Learners are welcome to bring their own fruit Christmas cake to decorate over the duration of the course. Alternatively, the college can supply a dummy cake for learners to practice techniques and decorations on in class. Please also bring a notebook, pen and pair of small pointed embroidery scissors.

Learners are responsible for the purchase of ingredients/materials necessary for the course. You will be contacted by email, prior to the first class, with details.
