What are the entry requirements?
There are no formal entry requirements in respect of this course; however, a level of knowledge and understanding will be expected. Ideally learners will have attended either the Introduction to Sugarcraft or Christmas Sugarcraft courses.
What does this programme involve?
This course will build on the skills taught in our Introduction to Sugarcraft and Christmas Cake Decorating courses. Learners will have a refresher on how to professionally decorate a cake using sugarpaste and learn how to cover a cake in royal icing. Learners will also be taught a range of techniques such as piping, frilling, modelling and complex flowers. The course does has some flexibility, therefore, the tutor is happy to consider individual requests from learners.
Hygiene, and health and safety will also be taught.
How is the programme taught and assessed?
This is a practical ''hands on'' course taught under the guidance of the tutor.
What else do I need to know?
Learners are responsible for the purchase of ingredients/materials necessary for the course. For the first class please bring a notebook, pen and a small pair of embroidery scissors.
