What opportunities will this course give me?

Our Christmas Treats workshop course will give you the initial knowledge and experience to start baking your own festive treats. Alongside a welcoming, highly engaged group, youll learn how to create luxury Christmas confectionery and adapt recipes to suit individual preferences.

Learners may wish to attend other confectionery or cookery courses offered by the college- please browse the website.

What will I be learning?

'Tis the season to be jolly! This workshop will focus on making festive treats either for yourself or to give as gifts.

During the session, we will be making:-

• Luxury gift wrapped Christmas pudding truffles
• Luxury orange mince pies made with butter pastry and cream cheese filling

There will also be festive recipes given out at the end of the session for you to try at home.

This course is perfect for learners who prefer a practical approach to their studies.

How will my learning be enhanced?

The course is essentially a practical class with hands on learning. There will be some group and individual instruction, including demonstrations.

You'll be taught by Vanessa, a specialist Patisserie Confectioner. She has successfully delivered a variety of specialist cookery workshops at Eastleigh College, over a number of years.

Shes passionate about helping people learn new skills and experiment with different techniques, gaining a sense of pride when they celebrate their final creations.

What do I need to sign up?

There are no entry requirements for this course; it is suitable for anyone who would like to make edible festive treats and gifts.

Is there anything else I need to know?

All ingredients are included in your course fee and festive packaging will be provided to take your items home.

Optional for Christmas Pudding Chocolate Truffles - A measure of liquor of your choice. We will provide vanilla bean paste as an alternative flavouring.

Optional for Luxury Orange Mince Pies - Two tablespoons of liquor for the mincemeat, e.g. Grand Marnier or Cointreau.

No additional costs are anticipated.

Aprons are provided but please bring an apron if you wish to use your own.
