Why not come along to one of our Open Evenings?

What career opportunities can this lead to?

Students could progress to other Accountancy and Bookkeeping courses run at Eastleigh College - please browse the website for more information. Students may also undertake work in accounting and/or bookkeeping.

What are the entry requirements?

This course is suitable for anyone who has a Level 1 Certificate. If a student does not hold this qualification, they must be assessed by the tutor before undertaking the course to ensure it is the correct course for them.

What does this programme involve?

The syllabus teaches the accounting process from trial balance to extended trial balance covering year-end adjustments to balance sheet. It covers revenue versus capital expenditure, double-entry bookkeeping for depreciation of fixed assets, bad and doubtful debts, accruals and prepayments and control accounts, extended trial balance, and journal correction of errors and omissions.

This is a City and Guilds accredited qualification. There is a 2 hour exam at the end of the course, which is externally assessed. If successful, students will gain a City and Guilds 8991 Level 2 Certificate Bookkeeping and Accounting.

The provisional date for the exam is Tuesday 2 July 2019. This will be confirmed during your course.

How is the programme taught and assessed?
