What will I be learning?
This course is for the Classic version of Lightroom, which is computer-based, and not for the cloud-based CC version.
• How Lightroom Classic is structured, and how it works
• The importance of the catalogue, and how to back it up
• Import your images - the necessary first step
• Sort and label your images
• Filter them to find the ones you want
• Crop and straighten images
• Make tonal and colour corrections
• Remove blemishes
• Make changes to parts of the image using the adjustment brush.
• Export your finished images ready for printing or sharing in other ways.
The tutor will also aim to include into the course any requests that you may have.
Why is this course for me?
If youre keen to learn how to use Adobe Lightroom Classic, from how it works to making changes, then this is the course for you.
The course will give you an essential overview of how Lightroom Classic works and is structured, as well as a workflow covering the entire process from importing your images to exporting them. You will learn about the Library and Develop modules, so that you can import and organise your images; make any corrections needed, such as tonal or colour, along with blemish removal; enhance images using filters and the local adjustment brush; and then export them, in the right format, ready for the next step.
The course is perfect for learners who prefer a practical approach to their studies. Youll leave Eastleigh having been taught the essential skills of how to use Lightroom.
How will my learning be enhanced?
Learners will be taught by demonstration via data projector and one to one coaching. The course is primarily hands on learning. Handouts are included.
The college uses Lightroom Classic running on Microsoft Windows PCs. Lightroom CC is a cloud-based application, and NOT what is covered by this course.

What do I need to sign up?
The course is suitable for complete beginners with no prior knowledge of Adobe Lightroom Classic. You should have basic computer skills, such as using a mouse, double- and right-clicking, and understand terminology such as drop-down menus.
Is there anything else I need to know?
An Eastleigh College certificate is available on request following completion of the course.
