What is Work Experience?

  • An opportunity to experience working life.
  • A chance to develop and practice new skills and become ‘career ready’.
  • It can help you to focus on your next steps after Eastleigh College.

College expectations:

As part of your course you will need to do a minimum of 35 hours of work experience in your relevant subject area.

How do I find a work experience placement?

Start googling companies that you would like to work with. You can email or give them a call to see if they could offer you a placement.

Once you have found a placement, tell your tutor straight away so that the work experience team can contact the employer to confirm the placement.

What are the benefits of work experience?

  • Try out career ideas
  • Become more employable
  • Boost your confidence
