L3 Entitlement

If you are aged 19-23 and do not hold a full Level 3 qualification, you may be entitled to a fee waiver. This is dependent on individual circumstances, and will be checked. All fee waiver eligible learners will be asked to sign a declaration.

The National Skills Fund level 3 Adult Offer

The National Skills Fund level 3 adult offer is available to support adults aged 24 and above without an existing full level 3 or equivalent qualification. This offer is also available to adults aged 19 to 23 alongside the 19 to 23 legal entitlement offer. This is dependent on individual circumstances, and will be checked for eligibility.

Payment in Full by the Learner or by Employer Sponsor

  • fees under £200 are paid in full at enrolment by learner or sponsor
  • We use World pay online for all payments we process(Debit/Credit Cards)
  • The receipt is generated by email to the registered account holder

Employer Sponsor

If your employer intends to fund your course by Invoice, BACS or purchase order Please complete the Employer Payment Authorisation Form.

FlexPay Payment Plan

  • An alternative solution when funding course fees exceeding £200 with no added interest
  • Minimum deposit of £50 is payable in the first instance but you can pay a higher value to reduce the instalment payments if you wish.
  • Remaining cost spread monthly with FlexPay. £6 admin fee applies per payment (£5 plus VAT)
  • Deposit and payments can be made with a debit/credit card
  • Final balance must be paid at least 31 days before the end of your course

Example Payment Plan

Course Cost: £250.00

Deposit: £50.00 (paid to Eastleigh College on enrolment)

Balance: £200.00

Instalment spread: 4 consecutive months 

FlexPay administrative fee: £24 (£6 per month)

Advance Learner Loan (ALL)

2021 to 2022(part-time students can apply end of June 2021)

Learners must meet the criteria to apply:

  • Aged 19 or older on the first day of starting their designated loans qualification. Please use link to check eligibility https://www.gov.uk/advanced-learner-loan/eligibility
  • On receipt of a loan application, SLC is responsible for assessing whether you are eligible.
  • Where an Access to HE course leads to the subsequent completion of an HE University Course the learner’s FE Advanced Learner Loan will be written off
  • Not already hold a degree, outstanding debt with the Student Loans Company (SLC)
  • Be studying for an eligible FE course from Level 3 to 6. (Not all qualifications are loan fundable)

Outstanding fees are payable by the learner, even if a learner withdraws from a course before completion, and full fees have not yet been drawn down from SLC.

Applying for an Advanced Learner Loan

If you decide to fund all or part of your studies with an ALL

  • You cannot apply until you get a ‘learning and funding information letter’ from your college or training provider.

Bursary fund

You may apply to get money from the Loan Bursary Fund after you’ve received a letter approving your Advanced Learner Loan. This is dependent on individual circumstances, and will be checked for eligibility. Advanced Learner Loan: Bursary fund - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)

The money can help pay for things like:

  • accommodation and travel
  • course materials and equipment
  • childcare
  • classroom assistance for a disability or learning difficulty - once you’re assessed by your college or training provider

Things to Remember

  • You are responsible for the account held with the SLC,
  • You must inform both parties of any changes of circumstances (address, name change)
  • Please sign and return the declaration letter we have provided for you.
  • Loan recipients, will start repaying their loan the April after they finish or leave their course, or the April four years after the start of their course (even if still studying), whichever comes first.
  • You’ll only repay when your income is over £524 a week, £2,274 a month or £27,295 a year (before tax and other deductions). https://www.gov.uk/repaying-your-student-loan
  • If your income falls below the repayment threshold, your repayments will stop and only restart when your income exceeds the threshold again.
  • You can also make additional voluntary repayments to SLC at any time
