Apprenticeships are a type of qualification which combines learning in the workplace, with structured training. Unlike fully workplace-based Apprenticeships, this type of Apprenticeship provides a combination of on-and-off-the-job training and assessment, and is managed by Eastleigh College Training Agency (ECTA), as apposed to an individual assessor. Each apprentice is assigned a Training Advisor who monitors and supports the apprentice and is also the primary point of contact for the employer. This option typically requires attendance at college for one day per week (term time only) but for some types of Apprenticeship, a block release attendance option is available.
Whilst the majority of Apprenticeships delivered in this way commence in September, for some types of Apprenticeship we are also able to offer starts at other times of the year.
Unlike the fully workplaced-based Apprenticeships, this option is best suited to the development of an existing employee, or employers who are seeking to take on a new employee. Where a new employee is being sought, Eastleigh College Training Agency will assist, without charge, in advertising the vacancy on the Apprenticeship Vacancies website.
