Popular subject areas undertaken at Eastleigh College over the last three years include English and ESOL, Gas Assessment Centre courses and Electrical courses. We offer an exceptionally high number of course subject areas for professionals compared to other Further Education colleges nationally.
In response to demand for higher level skills (Level 4 and above) from ambitious individuals within the local population, we provide access to university and degree level courses through our strategic partnership with Portsmouth University.
The new health and social care course set up in January 2020 in partnership with University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is an exclusive Level 3 full time study programme for local school and college leavers wishing to work within healthcare. The qualification also carries up to 168 UCAS points enabling learners with the aspiration to go on to university to move into careers such as registered nursing, midwifery, as a paramedic or within occupational therapy.
Changing working conditions require constant updating of knowledge, skills and attitudes and demand from local businesses for college support is high. Eastleigh College plays a key role in providing access to high quality education, skills and learning for local and regional employers such as Vivid Homes, Solent LEP and Business South.
Along with other local stakeholder organisations, Eastleigh College is seen as an ‘anchor institution’ in the local area. We welcome opportunities to collaborate with businesses, schools, training providers and and other further education colleges in the local area to share best practice.
On average, 88% of the last three years’ worth of enrolled professional learners live within an SO or PO post code. Our recruitment footprint (all ages) is wider reaching across the Solent area than any other FE college.
In response to the pandemic the College identified a number of commitments as to how it can contribute to, lead and proactively collaborate to serve communities and employers during the immediate Covid-19 recovery. The Eastleigh College 2020/21 Covid-19 ‘Bounce Back’ pledge was published in July 2020 and continues to receive strong support from stakeholders.
Our hobby based courses, which do not generally lead to a qualification are available at a number of locations and are very popular within the community.
