What career opportunities can this lead to?

The Cache LEVEL 2 is for adult learners to extend their knowledge and understanding of work in a particular sector. It is a suitable qualification for those wishing to change career or move into a particular area following a career break. The qualification will give learners a relevant qualification for working in a school environment.

What are the entry requirements?

No formal entry requirements, Must be at least 18 years old & ability to achieve level 1 Functional skill Maths and ICT and Level 2 English
Working in a School setting with children 5-16 years

What does this programme involve?

This qualification will give learners the skills, knowledge & understanding required for working in a school as a learning support assistant. The qualification will assess the knowledge & competence required to work in this sector.

How is the programme taught and assessed?

Once you have enrolled onto the programme you will be assigned an assessor that will visit you in the workplace regularly. They will complete assessment plans and reviews with you to keep you on target. They will support you in the collection of the required evidence needed for your qualification through different assessment methods such as; professional discussion, observations, written questions, verbal questions, witness statements and any assignments.

What else do I need to know?

For learners who are employed as a Learning Support Assistant within a school (Year 1 and above) working 16 hours or more is essential for apprentices.

Learners will be required to complete Functional Skills in Maths and ICT at level 1 and English at level 2 (Unless they have exemptions)

Learners need to have a permanent contract to do the apprenticeship.

How do I apply?

If you are hoping to undertake a workbased apprenticeship, please be aware that you will need to be employed in a relevant role in industry and your employer must agree to your training.
