What are the entry requirements?

No formal entry requirements, Must be at least 18 years old & ability to achieve level 2 Functional skill Maths and ICT and Level 2 English
Working in a School setting with children 5-16 years

What does this programme involve?

This qualification will give learners the skills, knowledge & understanding required for working in a school as a learning support assistant. The qualification will assess the knowledge & competence required to work in this sector. The optional units cover specialisms such as Literacy & Numeracy support, Behaviour support , Bilingual support , Pastoral & welfare support , Pupil Mentoring and Special needs.

How is the programme taught and assessed?

In the workplace by the assessor who will cover both Knowledge & Performance criteria

What else do I need to know?

Learners must be employed to complete the apprenticeship programme & will be required to undertake Functional skills English, Maths & ICT at level 2 if they don't already hold a prior qualification.

How do I apply?

If you are hoping to undertake a workbased apprenticeship, please be aware that you will need to be employed in a relevant role in industry and your employer must agree to your training.
