Refrigeration and Air conditioning has many uses in the world today: our food is chilled, frozen and stored using refrigent gas, and our shops, hospitals, and offices are cooled with air conditioning. Roles in this industry are varied, often involving travel to different sites and learning a range of practical skills. A typical career path would be as a Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineer, who would be responsible for the design, installation and maintenance of the cooling systems we use in our buildings.
