What opportunities will this course give me?
On successful completion of the NVQ Level 2, the progression is onto Level 3 technical certificate and NVQ 3.
What will I be learning?
Mainly site assessment which is planned and completed with qualified assessor. The NVQ 2 is gained by compiling a personal portfolio of completed competencies. These jobs will be assessed by one of our qualified assessors. The course is one of the continuous assessment in the workplace on skills attained in the classroom and workshop. On completion of the course students will be able to install, commission and maintain hot and cold water systems, sanitation equipment i.e. bathroom suites, and associated drainage.
Why is this course for me?
Once you have enrolled onto the programme you will be assigned an assessor that will visit you in the workplace regularly. They will complete assessment plans and reviews with you to keep you on target. They will support you in the collection of the required evidence needed for your qualification through different assessment methods such as; professional discussion, observations, written questions, verbal questions, witness statements and any assignments.
What do I need to sign up?
Level 2 will suit you if you have some relevant plumbing and heating knowledge and skills, usually from a role where you've been supervised. You will need to complete an initial assessment in Maths.
Is there anything else I need to know?
This qualification is for anyone wanting to become a fully qualified plumber. It requires the candidate to have completed the 6129 Level 2 Certificate, and so have the necessary underpinning knowledge, or proven experience in the industry.
A ring binder or lever arch file to keep site evidence and plans.
