What opportunities will this course give me?
When working in a health or social care setting, the distribution and handling of medicine can feel overwhelming. Especially for those new in the field, the pressure can cause genuine anxiety.
Thats why we are pleased to offer the level 2 award in Understanding and Safe Handling of Medicine in HSC - a nationally qualified knowledge-based qualification.
One of the most popular elements of this fully funded course is that it is delivered entirely through distance learning. This means that students have the option to learn at a time that suits them around any commitments or circumstances., It is designed to fit around you and your lifestyle, whether you are in or seeking employment.
It is a brilliant way to expand your personal and professional development, and will act as a valuable tool for showing future employers your dedication and competency.
Why is this course for me?
Although the course will not allow learners to be occupationally qualified in the distribution of medicine, it will allow them to develop and demonstrate their understanding.
You will develop your awareness of the safe handling of medicine, and in particular:
●Different types of medication and their use
●The procedures for obtaining, storing, administering and disposing of medicines
●The legislation and audit process related to medication and issues of responsibility and accountability
We want the course to be available to all. Thats why we have made it fully funded for learners who are unemployed and over 19, or those currently employed and over 23. We also offer full funding for students who are between the ages of 19 and 23 and hold a level 2 certificate or above.
How will my learning be enhanced?
At the start of the course, you will be given a set of high quality resources to support your learning throughout the duration of the course and beyond; these will be yours to keep as a reference.
Youll leave the College with a nationally recognised Level 2 qualification, which will not only strengthen your CV but allow you to extend your learning further with training and higher education.
