What opportunities will this course give me?
There are many common causes when it comes to challenging behaviour; possessing a sound, in depth understanding of these triggers can be of huge benefit for those working in healthcare, social care and education.
The purpose of our Level 2 certificate in Understanding Behaviour that Challenges is to teach students effective communication skills and de-escalation techniques. It is designed for any individual wanting to learn how to respond to situations where behaviour may arise that is challenging or difficult to diffuse.
The course is available fully funded, making it accessible to all. It unpicks what is meant by challenging behaviour and how different types of behaviour could manifest. You will be shown how behaviour can often be a form of expression or a symptom of something else, as well as different causes and coping strategies. Plus, you will gain an awareness of the various support services available and how to use incident reflection as a means to manage behaviour.
Why is this course for me?
VRQs are acknowledged nationally as professional qualifications; this course is especially relevant for parents, carers and professionals working in a range of sectors (including public services, health and social care).
The programme is delivered through distance learning and is suitable for both young and adult learners, either in or seeking employment. Full funding is available for learners who are unemployed at any age over 19, and those who are employed but over 23. How will my learning be enhanced?
When you first start the course, you will be given a set of detailed learning tools and materials; these will be yours to keep beyond your time with Eastleigh.
All successful students will finish the course with a nationally recognised Level 2 qualification. This will not only support future job applications, but can also be used to propel you into a higher education qualification.
