What opportunities will this course give me?
Our Falls and Prevention Awareness course has been specifically designed for those working in health and social care; this includes hospitals, care homes or those caring for individuals living in their own home.
Falls constitute the most frequent and dangerous type of accident for people aged 65 and over; in fact, 10,000 falls happen every single day. Falls not only can have a serious physical impact on the individual - often leading to fractures and broken bones - but they can be incredibly harmful to a persons mental health and wellbeing. A fall can result in lack of confidence, fear and isolation. It is therefore crucial that anyone working with those at risk has a sound understanding of how to prevent them from happening in the first place.
The Level 2 programme is available fully funded and will further both your personal and professional development, enhancing your CV and boosting your employability and assurance within a role.
Why is this course for me?
VRQs are recognised nationwide as professional, reputable qualifications; they allow learners to further their knowledge and skills while maximising their suitability for specific areas of employment.
They are also delivered in a way that breaks down all barriers to entry and widens the reach of applications. Full funding is available for learners who are unemployed and 19 or over, or those in employment but 24 plus. Eastleigh also offers funding for 19-23 year old students if they already hold a level 2 award or higher.
The flexibility of the course means that not only is it accessible to all, but students can learn wherever and whenever they want. There is no need to attend the college and you even have the option of completing either paper based or online distance learning depending on your preferred style of learning.
On successful completion of the course, you will have a full knowledge of:
●Falls in context
●The risk factors and causes of falls
●Falls assessment and prevention
This awareness will support you in any health and social care role, enabling you to be the best carer possible for those you are supporting.
How will my learning be enhanced?
At the start of the course, you will be given a set of high quality resources to support your learning throughout the duration of the course and beyond; these will be yours to keep as a reference.
Youll leave the College with a nationally recognised Level 2 qualification, which will not only strengthen your CV but allow you to extend your learning further still in higher level studies.
