More than one person around the UK will suffer from a stroke every five minutes. 1 in 6 of the UK population has some form of hearing loss and 70% of care home residents are living with dementia or severe memory problems.
These - and so many more - statistics are high, highlighting the substantial health problems impacting a huge proportion of the population. For those working in a care environment, it is unsurprisingly vital to have a clear and thorough understanding of these varied health conditions and their implications.
Our Level 2 certificate in Common Health Conditions will teach you how different illnesses impact individuals in separate ways, as well as the ways you can mitigate those effects and improve someones day to day life as much as possible. The course is available fully funded and is designed to fit around your lifestyle, without the need to ever attend College.
Youll leave with a sound understanding of the signs, symptoms and treatments available for these conditions, and the best way to enable people to better manage, monitor and control their condition.
Why is this course for me?
This course is designed for both young and adult learners; whether currently in or seeking employment. Full funding is available for learners unemployed at any age over 19, or employed individuals aged 24 and over. Plus, learners aged 19-23 can access full funding if they already hold prior level 2 award or above.
Its ideal for people who work (or aspire to work) in adult health and social care, as all areas covered are specifically relevant to the kaleidoscope of roles available within the health and social care sector. It has the capacity to suit all levels, and - thanks to Distance Learning - is flexible enough for you to work whenever and wherever you want.
Theres no need to attend the College, meaning you can benefit from the range of resources on offer and staff experience from the comfort of your own home. Youll be provided with all the learning materials and course workbook necessary on enrolment and then its up to you!
However you choose to complete the programme, youll always have the support of our industry trained tutors who all make it their mission to lead you towards your ultimate goal.
