What opportunities will this course give me?
The CIPD Level 3 Certificate in People Practice is a Foundation-level, professional qualification based on the CIPD Profession Map. The Map was launched in 2018, having been developed in collaboration with a wide range of experts working at the heart of the profession. It sets the international benchmark for the people profession and provides a strong foundation to give people professionals the confidence and capabilities to guide their decision-making, actions and behaviours.
The primary purpose of this qualification is to develop learners knowledge and skills to build their expertise, inspiring them to undertake tactical tasks that deliver value. Learners will build their confidence and knowledge aimed at being able to contribute to immediate colleagues, customers and the organisation; supporting change and driving impact, to create immediate and short-term value. They will gather information to use in their role and use this to understand their work, organisation and profession more deeply. This can then be applied to the world of work as well as being used as a vehicle to start their journey to CIPD membership at the appropriate level to complement career and professional development.
This qualification introduces the learner to a wide range of relevant knowledge and expertise in people practice. It is suited to those learners who:

What will I be learning?
The Certificate in HR People Practice a firm foundation in all areas of HR, as well as an understanding of HR in a business context. It will help you develop essential HR skills and give you the confidence to be more effective at work.

Why is this course for me?
Certificate in People Practice is blended approach between class based study and self study. College study will be a mixture of taught sessions, discussions and practical work. Apart from class time, you will need to spend an average of 4 hours per week undertaking research or completing assessment tasks.
Each unit will require completion of a mix of written and practical, skill-based assessments. These will be marked by your lecturer and be internally and externally verified.
How will my learning be enhanced?
BY communicating and learning through class tasks, peer feedback and project work.
What do I need to sign up?
Although there are no formal academic entry requirements, the course tutor will discuss your suitability for the course either before the course starts, or within the first few weeks.
You will need to be a CIPD student member whilst studying. This costs approximately £135 and the tutor will advise you of how to join at the start of the course.
Is there anything else I need to know?
Stationery and memory stick.
Recommended textbooks are available in the Learning Resource Centre. The course tutor will provide details of this at the beginning of the course.
