What are the entry requirements?

There are no formal entry requirements in respect of this course.

What does this programme involve?

This course covers all the basic life saving skills to include :
- Resuscitation.
- Recovery position.
- Control of bleeding.
- Heart attacks.
- Burns and scalds.
- Choking.
- Reporting accidents
- Maintaining an approved First Aid kit
- Emergency priorities

This is an 6 hour course that gives students a 3 year qualification which can be used in the workplace.

How is the programme taught and assessed?

Theoretical and practical class.

What else do I need to know?

Anyone with an interest in learning basic first aid for use both at work and in the home. The student must also be physically able to meet the demands of the course e.g. giving CPR and completing role play as a casualty and a first aider.

Note book and pencil.
Students to wear suitable clothing, e.g. trousers.
