What opportunities will this course give me?
The UK is the 6th largest economy in the world. The sector employs over 29 million people within in many different types of business and organisations. In 2017, there were 5.7 million private sector businesses in the UK, up by 4% since 2016. This ever growing industry provides so many opportunities for anyone seeking employment with a sound understanding of communication, problem solving and being entrepreneurial which are all covered in this work skills qualifications.
This programme aims to develop skills such as developing work related skills and behaviours, developing application and CV skills alongside interview skills.
On completion of this course you can seek employment or continue studying at a higher level
What will I be learning?
The course is designed ideally for those with a genuine interest in getting back into the workplace/employment or to support growth in your current workplace.
The programme retains a strong academic base, whilst including practical units and modules. You will need to be dedicated, self motivated with good time management skills as this sets you up in good stead for your research and assignment deadlines.
Where possible projects will be based on real life situations/events workplace situations, activities and demands.
The programme is made up of 6 units and is a Pass/Fail qualification
1. Developing work-related skills and behaviours
2. Developing job application skills
3. Understanding types of employment contracts
4. Developing interview skills
5. Managing Work related problems
6. Being entrepreneurial
These units may vary year to year and are made up of a variety of practical and theoretical units to develop those skills further.
Your continually developing skills will evolve through a mixture of lessons, demonstrations, assignments and practical tasks that will be assessed as part of set practical activities which will be supported by reflective assignment reports produced within deadlines and independent assessments.
Why is this course for me?

The skills learnt on this course will give you a better understanding of the expectations of the employer, improve your interview skills and solve work related problems along with entrepreneurial skills which allows you to think outside the box and make you stand out from the crowd.
Assessment is throughout the year for all units and will be a variety of assessments, presentation, research projects and assignments
What do I need to sign up?
You will be working confidently towards a Level 2 qualification and will have already achieved Functional Skills at Level 1 or hold a GCSE Grade D /3 or higher in Maths and English. In addition, you will need to successfully complete an interview with a member of the team and be ready and motivated to progress towards Level 2 study.
Is there anything else I need to know?
Individuals may need to purchase appropriate PPE to ensure their own safety during their enterprise activities. This may be supported by the college is individuals are eligible.
