What career opportunities can this lead to?
The practical course is recommended for those that wish to develop a career in maintenance and manufacturing engineering. The programme is also designed to supplement the Level 3 for those students whose Maths grade is only achieved at GCSE Foundation level.
The progression route for this programme is to a City and Guilds or BTEC Level 3 in Engineering, an Apprenticeship or employment in the industry.
A career in Engineering could take you to a vast range of industries, including aerospace, automotive, food and drink, marine, medical, IT, construction, nuclear, or even space. There are opportunities to work as a mechanical, electrical or chemical engineer in most industries, where you could focus on the research and design elements or take a more hands-on approach with manufacturing and maintenance.
