What career opportunities can this lead to?

This programme is for individuals who wish to gain the skills and knowledge required to work in the plumbing industry. On completion of the programme, students can progress onto Level 3 Plumbing Studies, NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 at Eastleigh College, or an Apprenticeship, providing you have gained full-time employment in the plumbing industry.

What are the entry requirements?

Progression from level 1 diploma in Plumbing Studies 7202 with 4 GCSEs at grade A*-D / 9-3 including maths and English (English at C/4) or possess an equivalent qualification. Without prior learning you will require 4 GCSEs at grade A*-D / 9-3 including maths and English at C/4 or possess an equivalent qualification. In addition, you must have good attendance and attainment reports from your previous school or college and successfully pass a college interview, showing enthusiasm and motivation to join the programme.

How is the programme taught and assessed?

The theory sessions provide you with new technical concepts and safe working practices with the practical sessions consolidating these practices, allowing an opportunity for hands on experience.

What else do I need to know?

You will be required to purchase safety footwear and overalls for the programme, together with text books in the first term.

-Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Plumbing Studies 6035, Maskrey & Wilson (ISBN 9780851932712)
-Water Regulations Guide, Second Edition 1999 by WRAS - optional
