Learners must be employed in a breakfast/After-school/Holiday club for minimum of 16 hours per week (12 hours if stand alone). Learners will also need to complete Functional Skills Level 1 in ICT, English & Maths (Unless they hold GCSE A-D).
This is an introduction to the primary aspects of working with children & Young people in a play environment. This course provides learners with an understanding of the importance of play & Play work in children & young peoples lives.
Learners will cover subject areas such as , Play-work Principles, Importance of play, Health & safety, Safeguarding & working as part of a team.
In the workplace under the guidance of senior staff & the assessor
Progression to level 3 not automatic, will depend on job role and experience
