This qualification can lead to a full time role working as a Breakfast/After school club assistant or Holiday club Supervisor

What are the entry requirements?

No formal entry requirements, Must be at least 18 years old & ability to achieve level 2 Functional skill
Working in a Play work setting with children 4-16 years for a minimum of 16 hours per week and hold some experience in the role.

Learners may need to complete level 2 functional skills unless they hold GCSE A-C in Maths, English and ICT.
Learners should have experience of working in a Play work setting and/or completed a level 2. Learners will cover subjects areas such as Providing an enabling environment , Health & Safety , Safeguarding & Promoting positive relationships

What does this programme involve?

This qualification will give learners the skills, knowledge & understanding required for Play work at level 3 based on the National Occupational standards.
The qualification is primarily aimed for those working or wishing to work in a more senior role with children & young people in a play environment.
Some units on the Diploma are at Level 4

How is the programme taught and assessed?

Once you have enrolled onto the programme you will be assigned an assessor that will visit you in the workplace regularly. They will complete assessment plans and reviews with you to keep you on target. They will support you in the collection of the required evidence needed for your qualification through different assessment methods such as; professional discussion, observations, written questions, verbal questions, witness statements and any assignments.

What else do I need to know?

How do I apply?

If you are hoping to undertake a workbased apprenticeship, please be aware that you will need to be employed in a relevant role in industry and your employer must agree to your training.
